This combined degree program allows you to pursue business studies with a creative emphasis.
Taught collaboratively by our Design and Marketing faculties, the BSc in Marketing and Design equips you with unique expertise in both disciplines while exploring their complementary and contrasting theoretical perspectives.
You'll establish a strong foundation in design theory and practice, mastering the creation of design briefs, overseeing design projects, and managing marketing strategies across various mediums from packaging to digital advertising. Through practical design assignments, you'll gain hands-on experience while learning industry-standard software to enhance your visualization capabilities.
Over three years, you'll collaborate with both marketing and design students, with dynamic exchanges between marketers and modern designers becoming a key component of your learning experience.
First-year studies encompass business frameworks, emerging technologies, product innovation, sustainability, and the intersection of design with social platforms. The curriculum also examines consumer psychology, market research techniques, customer engagement strategies, and promotional methods. Additionally, you can select an optional subject from social sciences, the Management School, or other university departments.
Second-year coursework focuses on distribution channels (particularly retail), design methodology applications, and market research approaches. The program culminates in final-year consultancy projects where you'll partner with actual clients, conducting research and applying theoretical knowledge to develop professional consulting skills.
