Offered through the Department of Languages and Cultures, our program enables you to develop advanced linguistic abilities while gaining comprehensive insights into Spanish societies and their global cultural contexts.
In your first year, you'll examine the Spanish language and its cultural background. You'll also take two supplementary subjects to enhance your studies, potentially including an additional language.
During Year 2, you'll advance your language proficiency while delving deeper into Spanish-speaking regions' history, politics, and culture. You'll also choose globally-focused modules that encourage comparative analysis of European and international perspectives.
Your third year abroad in a Spanish-speaking environment significantly boosts language mastery while fostering intercultural awareness. Options include academic study at partner universities or professional work experience placements.

A Level ABB
Required Subjects A level Spanish, or if this is to be studied from beginners level, AS grade B or A level grade B in another foreign language, or GCSE grade A or 7 in a foreign language. Native Spanish speakers will not be accepted onto this scheme.
IELTS 6.5 overall with at least 5.5 in each component. TOEFL IBT - 87 overall, minimum of 17 in listening, 18 in reading, 17 in speaking and 20 in writing. Cambridge English: Advanced CAE 176 overall with at least 162 in each element.
