Lancaster's History and Politics program is jointly delivered by our History Department and Department of Politics, Philosophy and Religion. This interdisciplinary approach allows you to cultivate knowledge, political awareness, and specialized skills while studying alongside like-minded peers and academics.
You can combine relevant modules from both departments. For instance, you might examine US political and cultural history through History courses while simultaneously taking classes on American Government and Politics.
Your academic journey begins with foundational modules such as From Ancient to Modern: History and Historians, along with Politics in the Modern World.
During your second and final years, you'll have access to diverse elective options including Middle Eastern Politics and History, International Relations, Security and Sustainability, Development Politics and Global Transformations, Core Economic Principles, and Contemporary Political and Philosophical Debates.
