The Department of Languages and Cultures offers German Studies, where you'll develop advanced language proficiency while gaining deep insights into German cultures and societies from a global perspective. This program features an international placement year for overseas study.
In your initial year, you'll examine both the German language and its cultural background. You'll also choose two supplementary subjects to enhance your studies, potentially including an additional language.
During your second year, you'll advance your language abilities while delving deeper into German-speaking cultures and history. You'll also have the opportunity to take internationally-focused modules that encourage comparative analysis of European and global contexts.
Your third year abroad in a German-speaking environment significantly boosts language fluency and intercultural awareness. Options include studying at a partner university or completing a professional internship.
