Criminology examines criminal behavior, its prevention, and societal impacts. This interdisciplinary field integrates political science, legal studies, psychology, and sociology to analyze criminalization processes, crime prevention strategies, and justice systems.
The curriculum covers crime trends and public perceptions worldwide, rehabilitation approaches for offenders, equity challenges in legal systems, and law enforcement dynamics. Additional topics include juvenile justice, digital risk assessment tools, security measures against terrorism, and crime reduction techniques.
Students engage with foundational criminological theories while learning about the operational structures and legal frameworks of the justice system in England and Wales.
