Our BA (Hons) Sociology and Criminology program blends theoretical foundations with practical application. Together, we'll help you master the art of applying sociological and criminological concepts to real-world situations. The curriculum examines crucial topics including gender equity, racial and ethnic studies, environmental crime, societal harms, and digital technology's influence. We'll motivate you to move beyond conventional notions of crime and justice, applying your expertise creatively to address systemic issues and influence future policies.

In our modern society, achieving social justice is fundamental for recognizing and combating inequalities both within and outside the Criminal Justice System. This BA (Hons) Sociology and Criminology program equips you with a sociological perspective to examine global issues and justice systems. You'll investigate topics that resonate with you, gaining the tools to drive substantial societal transformation.

While sociology and criminology are separate disciplines, they share important connections - which is why we've merged the strengths of our BA Sociology and BA Criminology programs into one comprehensive, interdisciplinary degree. Going beyond what these individual courses offer, our combined program features specialized modules that question mainstream crime narratives, enabling you to critically analyze fairness and inequity in modern societies. Essentially, we'll collaboratively redefine conventional understandings of justice.

At NTU, you'll develop distinctive skills and confidence that set you apart, preparing you to influence future policy and practice. You'll confront systemic inequalities and promote social justice across communities and institutions, creating tangible societal impact - whether within the Criminal Justice System or in fields like education, government, or nonprofit organizations.
