The School of Basic and Medical Biosciences concentrates its research efforts on addressing core biological questions related to health and disease. Working across disciplines, clinical researchers and discovery scientists join forces to explore diverse, groundbreaking fields - from stem cell programming and molecular biophysics to human disease genetics, while also pioneering novel technologies, treatments, and clinical studies.
Our integrated methodology allows us to investigate pressing, contemporary challenges in human physiology and various medical conditions including cancer, skin disorders, diabetes, liver disease, inherited disorders, aging processes, and pain management. The School unites five globally recognized research departments,
