Our globally recognized department cultivates a creative and close-knit research community. We invite PhD candidates worldwide to explore diverse research areas. An Applied Mathematics PhD can focus on the Disordered Systems Group, Financial Mathematics Group, or Probability Group. The Disordered Systems Group leads research in statistical mechanics for complex and disordered systems. The Financial Mathematics Group investigates mathematical methods in finance, integrating various fields of pure and applied mathematics such as probability theory, optimization, functional analysis, differential equations, statistics, geometry, complex systems, and numerical methods. The Probability Group's researchers examine numerous aspects of probability theory, covering random graphs, stochastic processes, free probability, random matrices, particle systems, discrete probability, and machine learning applications.
Pure Mathematics
