Overview The Law School's legal scholars continue Keele University's distinguished tradition of outstanding socio-legal research and contextually-informed doctrinal legal studies. Keele prioritizes fostering top-tier research capable of influencing legal and policy domains. Key established research strengths encompass Gender, Sexuality & Law along with Professional Ethics (PEAK - refer to Ethics section for more information), while emerging research groups explore Globalisation & International Law as well as Legal Education & Professional Practice. Beyond these specialized clusters, scholarly work spans several interdisciplinary themes such as healthcare law and bioethics, governance and regulation, and globalisation with international development. Facilities Postgraduate researchers benefit from private office spaces equipped with IT resources and comprehensive access to the University Library's vast digital journal and database collections. Law research students are invited to participate in ongoing research development programs and diverse academic events ranging from work-in-progress discussions to international conferences. The Centre for Law, Ethics and Society, which includes Law School faculty, has obtained ESRC funding for the Post-Graduate and Early Career Scholars' Network focusing on Law, Gender, and Sexuality (PECANS).
