The Keele MSc Pharmacology program is designed to offer in-depth exploration of molecular and cellular pharmacology principles and contemporary drug discovery methods. Starting with foundational knowledge in biochemistry, cell biology, physiology, and pharmaceutical design, you'll examine drug development strategies and the molecular interactions of medications used to treat various diseases. As you progress, you'll enhance your laboratory expertise by mastering essential and specialized techniques employed in pharmacological research. The curriculum enables you to synthesize knowledge of drug absorption, distribution, and biological effects, applying these principles to understand medication mechanisms and their clinical use across different patient groups. You'll also gain insight into cutting-edge drug development methodologies while studying project management fundamentals and business strategy. The final semester features a research project, allowing you to demonstrate competencies acquired throughout the course by designing, implementing, and presenting original pharmacological research.
