Aerospace systems centers on designing and utilizing onboard systems for aircraft and spacecraft, exploring how these can enhance vehicle functionality and efficiency. The Aerospace Systems team collaborates with Scottish law enforcement on design projects, creating unmanned drones for search and rescue missions. Students utilize cutting-edge facilities in the MAST lab for autonomous vehicle research. In their final year, students complete a six-month placement in industry, at an international university, or within University of Glasgow research centers. The program holds accreditation from both the Royal Aeronautical Society and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. Engineering student groups such as JetX, Design-Build-Fly, and University of Glasgow Racing (UGR) offer additional engagement opportunities. Hands-on lab work includes jet engine testing and a fifth-year flight-testing course aboard a Jetstream aircraft in the MEng program.
