The MRes program delivers thorough instruction in laboratory techniques and research methodologies, equipping you with the necessary skills for independent work during your research projects and beyond. Leveraging university-wide expertise, the curriculum combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience through two research projects focused on key thematic areas aligned with the institution's research priorities. Students can pursue a general Biological Sciences MRes or select a specialized track in fields such as Microbiology, (Neuro)Pharmacology, Cell and Molecular Biology, Food Science, among others.
This program develops research competencies suitable for PhD studies or careers in public/private sector research. Participants can enhance their graduate skillset through quantitative research training or by learning qualitative research methods. The MRes can be taken as a standalone qualification or as part of a 1+3 pathway culminating in a PhD degree.
