Aberystwyth University's Parasite Control program offers an MRes degree with global recognition, equipping students with versatile skills for PhD studies or research roles in commercial and industrial settings. This specialized course concentrates on parasitic organisms and their associated diseases, delivering advanced expertise in identifying, preventing, and managing both protozoan and metazoan pathogens affecting animals and humans. The curriculum covers diverse disciplines such as molecular biology, biochemistry, cellular manipulation techniques, bioinformatics, omics technologies (including proteomics and genomics), vaccine development, drug research, genetic studies, disease tracking, and vector ecology. Upon completion, graduates will master integrated approaches for combating the world's most dangerous infectious agents and be prepared to advance their careers in parasitological research.

Entry Requirements: 2:2 Bachelors (Honours) degree in a relevant subject area or equivalent. Subject to agreement with project supervisor. Non-graduates will be considered individually based on relevant work experience. Applicants are encouraged to submit an up-to-date CV as part of their application. IELTS 6.5 with minimum 5.5 in each component. TOEFL 93 with minimum component scores: Reading 18, Listening 17, Speaking 20, Writing 17.
