Introduction
Discover the main advantages of pursuing an LLB in Law at DMU.
During the initial year, all students follow a uniform curriculum, covering essential subjects like Constitutional and Administrative Law, Contract Law, Criminal Law, and English and European Legal Contexts. Various teaching and evaluation methods will thoroughly equip students for advanced studies in later years.
The concentration on fundamental legal principles and competencies persists in the second and third years, with courses on Land Law, Law of Tort, and Equity and Trusts. Practical understanding will also be enhanced through Inter-professional Legal Skills training.
Following your first year, you can tailor your education by choosing a specialization track from options such as Business Law, Criminal Justice, Human Rights & Social Justice, Sociolegal Studies, and International Law. Students may also opt to remain on the standard Common Law pathway.
This program prioritizes active engagement over passive learning, with participation being a crucial component. Legal instruction is complemented by career-focused initiatives and work placements, designed to cultivate self-assured, autonomous learners.
Program Length: Three years for full-time study, or four years including a placement year.
