The fields of law and criminology are fundamentally interconnected. This program provides comprehensive legal training alongside criminological insights, examining why certain behaviors are criminalized, theories of punishment, the characteristics of crime, and strategies for its prevention and control. As a joint honors course, over half your studies will focus on core legal subjects with additional law electives, complemented by criminology modules. Graduates emerge prepared for diverse criminal justice careers, whether in legal practice, public service, prosecution, defense, rehabilitation, or policy reform. You'll gain unique interdisciplinary perspectives by learning from both legal scholars and criminology experts. The curriculum develops your capacity for legal and academic analysis, research proficiency, and understanding of social policies and justice principles that shape legal systems and criminal justice. Through modules from Leicester Law School and the School of Criminology, you'll investigate criminal behavior's origins, patterns, and societal impacts while fulfilling LLB requirements. The program additionally analyzes the underlying factors influencing legislation, violations, and law enforcement practices.
