The Sector, Economic and Financial Studies research group invites PhD candidates to explore how alternative financial organizations—including credit unions and community development finance institutions (CDFIs)—are influencing responsible finance in the UK. We also encourage research proposals examining financial service perceptions, especially among younger individuals, to boost pension participation. Additionally, we seek applications involving panel data econometric studies on how intellectual property rights (IPRs) affect foreign direct investment (FDI).

We welcome proposals for these projects:

Intellectual Property Rights Protection: Analyzing the effect on Foreign Direct Investment through econometric panel data in developed and developing nations (Prof Glauco De Vita).Financial Services Risk Adoption: Investigating consumer risk-taking behavior in finance (Dr Harjit Sekhon).Advocacy in Financial Services: Exploring its influence on long-term savings like pensions (Dr Harjit Sekhon).Responsible Finance: Transforming the alternative economic environment (Dr Lindsey Appleyard).
