The CPC investigates how extended reality technologies (AR/VR/360) provide innovative, immersive approaches to showcasing and safeguarding cultural archives, collections, and artifacts. By integrating computational techniques like AI and machine learning with humanities research, we study how emerging postdigital media can enhance cultural heritage interpretation while making creative sectors more accessible. Our efforts support the creation of interactive archives and multimedia museum displays that assist cultural organizations in collection management while inviting public participation in heritage engagement - and simultaneously questioning established narratives through the reinterpretation of personal accounts and archival materials.
Our exploration of immersive culture encompasses playful and game-inspired design strategies for developing compelling, context-rich experiences across multiple platforms. Gaming elements have become thoroughly, if not completely, woven into our daily routines. The universal appeal of games in all their forms creates possibilities for incorporating their design principles into media that convey important messages, evoke emotions through captivating narratives and settings, and ultimately influence perspectives and actions.
