The Centre for Arts, Memory and Communities (CAMC) supports the Creative Cultures research initiative. CAMC investigates how artistic expression aids in interpreting history and enhancing contemporary life. Our interdisciplinary team studies the historical, social, and political aspects of cultural creation through both scholarly and practical research approaches. Utilizing varied methodologies, creative practices, and theoretical frameworks, we examine creativity's role in shaping community understanding, fostering connections, and driving positive societal change while improving personal wellbeing. With strong local roots, CAMC members actively enhance Coventry's cultural institutions and champion community wellbeing through increased access to artistic and heritage resources.
CAMC provides an outstanding collaborative space where distinguished researchers, artists, and creative professionals across disciplines engage with each other's projects while mentoring emerging scholars. We invite postgraduate students to join our vibrant research community, where they can investigate innovative areas of study under the guidance of field specialists.
