The Centre for Arts, Memory and Communities (CAMC) supports the Creative Cultures research initiative. CAMC investigates how artistic expression aids in interpreting history and enhancing contemporary life. Our interdisciplinary team studies the historical, social, and political aspects of cultural creation through both scholarly and practical research approaches. Utilizing varied methodologies, creative practices, and theoretical frameworks, we examine creativity's role in shaping community understanding, forging connections, driving transformation, improving personal wellbeing, and building brighter tomorrows. While rooted in Coventry, CAMC actively collaborates with local museums, galleries, and heritage institutions while advancing community wellness, accessibility, and engagement with creative works.
CAMC provides an outstanding collaborative space where distinguished researchers, artists, and creative professionals across disciplines interact with each other's projects while mentoring emerging scholars and postgraduate researchers. We invite postgraduate students to join our vibrant research community, where they can investigate dynamic areas of innovation under the guidance of field specialists.
