The Centre for Intelligent Healthcare strives to establish itself as a world-leading research hub for groundbreaking and influential studies in digital healthcare, focusing on enhancing community well-being and extending quality of life. Our healthcare system's most pressing issue is sustaining population health while alleviating pressure on the NHS, particularly amid rising cases of chronic illnesses. Shifting health monitoring from hospitals to homes and communities would yield advantages for both individuals and the healthcare system. Medical breakthroughs over the past two decades have introduced treatments for once-untreatable diseases, resulting in more people managing long-term health conditions. Combined with growing comorbidities from demographic shifts and lifestyle factors, it's evident our healthcare services must fundamentally transform. This evolution demands innovative methods, cutting-edge technologies, and substantiating evidence as we collectively take charge of maintaining our health, activity, and independence throughout our lives - because everyone deserves to age gracefully. Through its vibrant team, advisory panels, partner networks, and forward-looking tools, the Centre for Intelligent Healthcare (CIH) will lead this research frontier. We'll enhance digital self-care solutions, develop next-generation wearable health monitors, and generate the evidence needed for transformation. CIH aspires to global recognition as a pioneering research center shaping digital healthcare's role in strengthening communities and enriching lives.
