The CFCI combines our specialized knowledge in finance, economics, corporate governance, and legal studies to establish an ideal platform for investigating the interconnected and multidisciplinary aspects of modern financial and economic challenges affecting international businesses. As a postgraduate researcher at the Centre, you'll have the chance to collaborate with our faculty, join our dynamic PhD network, and showcase your work to broad audiences. The CFCI offers numerous initiatives for our postgraduate research community, such as: 1) Networking Events: frequent gatherings centered on student experiences and professional connections; 2) Seminar Programs: biweekly or weekly sessions featuring talks by members, global scholars, and guest presenters; and 3) Focused Training Sessions: specialized workshops on topics like quantitative methods and technical tools.
This research area concentrates on examining the economic impacts of warfare, political unrest, and resource wealth, along with their effects on development. Central to this work is uncovering the factors that sustain civil conflicts—recognized as major obstacles to progress—and the paradox of resource-rich nations struggling with growth. Our active research in this field encompasses both theoretical frameworks and data-driven analysis.
