The Economics PhD program offers postgraduate research students the chance to pursue the Doctoral Training Pathway in Economics within a School renowned globally for its research excellence. The School of Economics serves as a key collaborator in two prominent research centers: the Centre for Competition Policy, which plays a pivotal role in shaping international competition economics policies and maintains advisory relationships with numerous national competition authorities, and the Centre for Behavioural and Experimental Social Science, affiliated with the Economic and Social Research Council Network for Integrated Behavioural Science.

Qualification Requirements

The minimum academic requirement for entry to a doctoral degree and MPhil degree is a UK upper second class undergraduate honours degree and a Master's degree, or equivalent.

The minimum academic requirement for Master's by Research is a UK upper second class undergraduate honours degree, or equivalent.

IELTS - 7.0 overall with minimum of 6.5 in each component.
TOEFL iBT - 98, (Reading 20,Writing 19 , Listening 19, Speaking 21), Pearson Academic English - 76 overall with minimum of 67 in each component.
