After completing the course, you'll gain comprehensive knowledge of both the physical and psychological aspects of nutrition, with special emphasis on facilitating behavioral changes. You'll recognize common obstacles people encounter and learn effective techniques to help them adopt healthier habits. Our creative teaching methods allow you to explore, innovate, and engage in realistic scenarios within a supportive learning space. Practical simulations incorporate modern, inventive evaluations that involve service users at every stage. Through interdisciplinary collaboration in simulated environments, you'll strengthen your professional skills, understanding, and conduct.
The state-of-the-art Alison Gingell Building includes simulated healthcare environments like hospital wards, ambulance setups, therapy rooms, and residential spaces, preparing you for real-world situations before clinical placements. The program includes four practical training periods in diverse NHS and non-NHS locations, primarily within the West Midlands area, guided by skilled educators.
The curriculum employs dynamic assessment techniques designed to build practical competencies, alongside inventive teaching methods focused on real-world dietetic applications. Our accomplished faculty and clinical team will both mentor and challenge you to create meaningful impact in the field. Many faculty members hold leadership positions in professional organizations like the British Dietetic Association (BDA) and other national groups (note: staffing may vary).
