Engage in groundbreaking research alongside leading specialists at the forefront of philosophical inquiry. Our faculty expertise spans the breadth of traditional philosophy, encompassing analytic, continental, and empirical methodologies, along with dynamic emerging subfields. We excel particularly in ethics, epistemology, philosophy of mind, and their interdisciplinary connections. Our moral philosophy research encompasses normative ethics, metaethics, and applied ethics, with faculty members bringing combined knowledge in normative theory, practical reasoning, moral psychology, and socio-political philosophy. Applied ethics projects investigate healthcare, biobanking, nutrigenomics, and sports. Our philosophy of mind and psychology research has evolved to feature collaborative studies on perception and consciousness science. The epistemology department has strengthened its focus, with scholars exploring social epistemology and epistemic normativity alongside classic themes. We also maintain strong research capabilities on pivotal historical figures like Nietzsche and Wittgenstein, as well as contemporary thinkers from both analytic and continental traditions. Notably, much of our work bridges these traditions, synthesizing their respective insights.
