The Brunel Automotive Engineering BEng equips students passionate about motor vehicles with specialized skills to excel as professional engineers in the rapidly evolving automotive sector. Alongside core mechanical engineering principles—covering mathematics, engineering science, and design—you'll develop comprehensive expertise in modern and emerging automotive technologies. The program explores every facet of automotive development and production, from vehicle design and performance to powertrain systems, materials, structural integrity, and safety features. You'll gain practical experience diagnosing and solving engineering challenges encountered during vehicle construction and testing. Our BEng in automotive engineering holds accreditation from the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE). Students can select between a three-year full-time program or a four-year version incorporating a professional placement year to apply classroom knowledge in industry settings. Those enrolled in the standard program may switch to the placement option anytime before completing Level 2.
