Our PGCE in English will prepare you to become an educator capable of teaching the diverse English curriculum, encompassing Language, Literature, Drama, and Media studies.
You'll acquire instructional techniques to help students enhance their reading, writing, speaking, and listening abilities, transforming them into skilled communicators.
The program combines taught modules, assignments, and School-Based Training, all centered on your Progress Journal that tracks your development against our ITE Core Curriculum. This rigorous curriculum aligns with the ITT Core Content Framework (DfE, 2019) and the Teachers' Standards, essential benchmarks for educators throughout their careers.
PLACEMENTS
School placements constitute two-thirds of your training, providing diverse experiences across multiple educational settings.
You'll complete placements in at least two different schools, with additional visits to primary schools and post-16 institutions when relevant. These experiences offer valuable insights into teaching practices and broaden your professional exposure.
Throughout your placements, subject and professional mentors will support your learning journey, offering guidance and constructive feedback.
