The Postgraduate Certificate in Education (History) grants Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Our specialized program delivers exceptional training and guidance, equipping you to teach students aged 11-18 through strong school partnerships.

During the History Postgraduate Certificate in Secondary Education, you'll refine your teaching methods through critical thinking and evidence-based decisions, fostering continuous professional growth throughout your teaching career.

You'll gain from our distinctive partnership with the University of Birmingham School and numerous collaborating institutions, including comprehensive, single-gender, faith-based, selective schools, and sixth form colleges. The program's diverse learning environments will significantly enhance your PGCE History experience.

We believe teaching transcends basic practical skills - it's the integration of educational theory and classroom practice. Educators with this foundation can thoughtfully evaluate their teaching and pursue lifelong professional development. After completing your PGCE, you may enroll part-time to earn your Masters in Teaching Studies.
