The School of Modern Languages provides opportunities to pursue a PhD or MPhil in Italian Studies. With a strong history of supporting postgraduate students, the School ensures each researcher receives guidance from one or two supervisors based on their specialization. Students enjoy comprehensive access to computing resources (including translation software), library materials, and all School facilities such as the film collection. A designated postgraduate study space is available for regular use.
Program Length - PhD: 3-4 years full-time, 6 years part-time; MPhil: 2 years full-time, 3 years part-time.

Applicants should normally have a first or upper second class honours undergraduate degree and a Masters degree in a relevant subject.
