Much of this pioneering work is centered in the Dementia Services Development Centre (DSDC), where students will explore both practical and theoretical advancements, many pioneered by Bangor's DSDC.
The curriculum expands on established theoretical frameworks and research findings that inform applied health and social care practices in dementia support. It rigorously evaluates contemporary theories, practices, and policies to enhance dementia care methodologies across mental health, health, and social care management disciplines. The program fosters a comprehensive approach to person-centered and family-inclusive dementia care across various healthcare environments, emphasizing assessment, care planning, and interventions that address dementia's complex realities—including cultural and communication factors in therapeutic practices to elevate service quality.
Participants have the option to complete the program early with either a PG Certificate or PG Diploma by earning sufficient credits, offering adaptable study durations to suit individual needs.
