This program provides you with the chance to conduct specialized research in a selected area of film and cinema studies. After completing first-semester courses in Research Methods and Media, Culture, and Creativity, you'll work on a 40,000-word dissertation (or equivalent practical project). Expert faculty from Bangor's College of Arts and Humanities will guide you as you design, execute, and complete an independent project in film studies, whether creative or theoretical, over an extended duration. The MRes program includes a college-wide seminar series where you can present your ongoing work and explore critical research frameworks both at Bangor and elsewhere.
Ideal candidates for this program will possess an outstanding undergraduate degree in a related field or comparable professional experience, along with proven ability to independently complete self-directed projects.
