You will explore two key aspects that have shaped perceptions of Wales and Welsh identity over the last century. Through Welsh studies, you'll examine literary works and linguistic developments ranging from Aneirin's ancient northern-British poetry to contemporary writers of post-industrial Wales. The Welsh History component traces Wales' transformation across political, social, industrial, and religious spheres throughout history, alongside its interactions with wider historical movements. Graduates in Welsh and Welsh History pursue careers in government, regional administration, media, publishing, education, and cultural preservation.
