Our program covers social, cultural, and political history spanning from the early modern era to contemporary times, with special focus on Britain, Europe, the Americas, Africa, and India. We prioritize hands-on historical practice - students engage with primary sources from day one, examining diverse historical materials like documents, oral accounts, maps, visual media, films, artworks, and musical pieces.
You'll explore how source materials and media portrayals influence historical interpretations. The curriculum encourages critical analysis of major historical debates, their evolution, and their impact on our worldview. Additionally, you'll study historical methodology and assess historians' contemporary roles in public discourse, media, and cultural preservation.
