Get ready for a career as a professional music producer with our Music Production degree in Cambridge, where you'll master cutting-edge techniques and gain hands-on experience with various production equipment. At ARU, you'll build an extensive portfolio that prepares you for today's collaborative creative fields, whether your goal is DJ performances, producing original music, or crafting soundtracks for films and games. Our BA (Hons) Music Production program provides access to industry-standard recording, mixing, editing, and production tools, offering practical experience while refining your critical listening abilities and deepening your understanding of music production history.
Several modules are shared with our other music programs, fostering collaboration with diverse peers and helping you develop essential professional skills like teamwork and time management. You'll also have chances to partner with film and game design students, composing soundtracks for their projects. In your second year, you'll expand your knowledge of the music industry by completing a placement in your area of interest, while also learning to assess and enhance your transferable skills for career growth.

Choices like Audio for Film or Audio for Games will sharpen your skills in production recording, sound design, and specialized areas like ADR or interactive audio production. Qualification Requirements
5 GCSEs at grade D, or grade 3, or above and evidence of two years post-GCSE study at Level 3.
If you have achieved at least grade E in one A level, or equivalent, you are exempt from the two years post-GCSE study requirement, but you still must meet the GCSE requirements.
Applicants who do not meet the two years post GCSE study at level 3 may be considered based on their satisfactory employment history, which must be a minimum of two years full time employment supported by employer evidence and deemed appropriate by the University for meeting the course of study applied for.
If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 5.5 (Academic level) or equivalent English Language qualification, as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University.
