Our BA (Hons) Music Production program teaches you the complete process of creating commercial music - from composition and recording to mixing and mastering. You'll have ample opportunities to develop personal projects and focus on your chosen career specialization.
Since music producers work across diverse fields, the course prepares you for careers in radio, television, film, gaming, and theater. You'll learn from industry professionals including active songwriters, producers, and performers. Recent instructors have included notable figures like Nick McCabe, former lead guitarist of The Verve, alongside researchers connected to genres ranging from hip-hop to electronic music. The curriculum includes specialized modules for developing technical skills required in professional studios. Our state-of-the-art facilities feature five fully equipped recording studios with surround sound and consoles from leading brands like SSL, Avid, Audient, and API.
The campus boasts a 60-workstation Mac music technology center with industry-standard software including Logic Pro, Ableton Live, and Native Instruments Komplete. Students can obtain official Pro Tools certification at minimal cost. Studio access is available weekdays from 9am to midnight, with weekend slots for individual work. The program also encourages creative exploration through songwriting and experimental composition, making it perfect for students who enjoy both performance and production.
