We understand aspiring artists want guidance from industry experts, which is why all our instructors are practicing illustrators. They'll assist you in developing your unique visual voice and launching your professional journey, while remembering why you pursued illustration studies initially. At Cambridge School of Art, you'll enjoy ample opportunities to explore, innovate, collaborate, and produce original work.
Our exceptional studio facilities will become your creative home, where you'll dedicate significant time developing your craft. Beyond refining your drawing and observational techniques, you'll investigate diverse disciplines including narrative art, editorial illustration, animation, print media, typographic art, and motion graphics. Recognizing the importance of professional development, we'll motivate you to pursue valuable experiences - participating in prestigious competitions, tackling real client projects, and securing industry placements.
The illustration field offers boundless career paths. You might create book illustrations, work as a visual designer, develop theatrical scenery or packaging designs, or contribute to animated features. A standout experience for our students is the yearly Lisbon drawing excursion. Our second and third-year cohorts have the privilege of joining this educational trip to Portugal's capital for intensive drawing practice.

Qualification Requirements
96 UCAS Tariff points from a minimum of 2 A Levels (or equivalent level 3 qualifications), including Art, Design or Media subjects.
3 GCSEs at grade C, or grade 4, or above, including English.
You will be asked to provide a digital portfolio for review and will be given the option to book a meeting to discuss this with us.
If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 6.0 (Academic level) or equivalent English Language qualification, as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University.
You may also be accepted to this course with an IELTS 5.5 (Academic level- with no individual score being lower than 5.5) or equivalent English Language qualification as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University, but will then be required to undertake additional compulsory free English language modules in your first year.
UCAS Tariff points acquired from BTEC Level 3 Diplomas in a related subject are accepted.
UCAS Tariff points from Access to HE Diplomas are accepted.
International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum of 24 points is accepted, this must include a related subject.
UCAS Tariff points from Scottish Advanced Highers are accepted, related subjects are required.
