The BA Illustration program at Camberwell College of Arts offers a creative, exploratory, and analytical approach to illustration. This course guides you in shaping your unique artistic voice as an illustrator. Through hands-on workshops, you'll master storytelling techniques using diverse creative methods, experimenting with layouts while exploring tone, pacing, and character development.
Beyond technical abilities, you'll study illustration's historical context. By analyzing various artists' works, you'll investigate how illustration serves as a medium for addressing social, political, and cultural commentary. The standard minimum entry requirements for this course are one or a combination of the following qualifications
Pass at Foundation Diploma in Art and Design Level 3 or 4
2 A Levels at grade C or above
Merit Pass Pass MPP at BTEC Extended Diploma
Pass at UAL Extended Diploma
Access to Higher Education Diploma
Or equivalent EU International qualifications such as International Baccalaureate Diploma at 24 points minimum
And 3 GCSE passes at grade 4 or above grade AC
Entry to this course will also be determined by the quality of your application looking primarily at your portfolio of work personal statement and reference
IELTS level 6.0 or above, with at least 5.5 in reading, writing, listening and speaking
TOEFL IBT - valid for 2 years - Score Required - 80 - Listening - 17, Reading - 18, Writing - 17, Speaking - 20.
