You'll develop into an adaptable illustrator while cultivating a distinctive style and perspective showcased in a compelling portfolio.
Focusing on innovative visual concepts and craftsmanship, this curriculum embraces the vibrant spectrum of modern image creation, encouraging you to push limits through both digital and traditional mediums. Our adaptable studio environment promotes holistic learning, inviting collaboration, exploration, and involvement across various visual disciplines. These encompass: visual creation methods, illustration drawing techniques, informational and promotional illustration, photographic art direction, visual narratives, publication artwork, along with craftwork and animation.
Exploration is fundamental to refining your skills. You'll combine this with conceptual development to create meaningful content. Collaborating with Graphic Design students, you'll gain comprehensive understanding of design processes, creative solutions, and visual communication through structured assignments, lectures, discussions, hands-on sessions, critiques, and studio work.
You'll utilize tutorial spaces, group work areas, and digital resources featuring state-of-the-art Mac systems. Our workshop amenities include specialized life drawing studios, textile arts, screen printing, traditional letterpress, experimental printmaking, photography labs, animation tools, digital workstations, laser cutting, and three-dimensional craft facilities.

This Illustration degree equips you for diverse professional opportunities, including: book arts and publishing, editorial work, animation, and print arts. It also provides strong preparation for advanced studies. Numerous alumni successfully manage independent freelance practices, undertaking projects for children's literature and commercial clients such as Digital Arts magazine, AOL, New Scientist, Ammo magazine, Ikea, Anorak Press, and Kooga.
