This four-year program features an initial foundation year to help you build the practical, technical, academic, and creative skills needed for your undergraduate studies at the University of Plymouth.
The curriculum fosters innovation, experimentation, and bold thinking while emphasizing career-ready skills and professional preparation. Student projects are grounded in real-world scenarios, working with either hypothetical or actual clients, target audiences, and problem-solving challenges.
Starting in year 2, a 'careers spine' is integrated, offering placement opportunities. Year 3 includes a focused five-week module where students analyze the industry, create a job-seeking strategy, and develop a personal brand identity applied to resumes, business cards, social profiles, and digital portfolios.
Our connections with over 100 design studios allow students to network, and we collaborate with these professionals to keep course material aligned with industry needs.
As a result, most graduates secure steady creative industry jobs within a year. Beyond graphic design, alumni pursue careers as digital designers, art directors, UX specialists, motion designers, marketing professionals, social media coordinators, account managers, strategists, researchers, and academics.
