The School of Art provides both a one-year MPhil and a three-year PhD program in Fine Art or Art History.
Art education at Aberystwyth marks its 90th anniversary this year, coinciding with the centenary celebration of our beautifully renovated Edwardian building. The School boasts excellent facilities including spacious studios, print workshops, darkrooms, lecture halls, seminar rooms, a MacSuite, exhibition spaces, an archive room, and a Museum.
Nestled in its own landscaped grounds, this historic Edwardian structure underwent complete renovation in 1993 to accommodate modern fine art education while preserving its architectural heritage. It stands as a graceful representation of our commitment to blending historical tradition with contemporary practice.

Entry Requirements MA Art History, or equivalent, and submission of a satisfactory portfolio. Other Requirements Applicants should submit a full research proposal at the point of application.
