Discover how to enhance healthcare results for Māori, Pacific communities, and broader populations. Become the trusted professional patients rely on during their most vulnerable health experiences. This program blends cultural awareness with clinical training, preparing you for a fulfilling yet demanding healthcare career.
For three decades, nursing education has been a cornerstone of Whitireia's offerings. The institution is renowned for graduating practice-ready nurses who earn high praise from healthcare employers.
Prospective students can choose from three NZQA-approved Bachelor of Nursing degrees that satisfy Nursing Council registration standards: the Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Nursing Māori, and Bachelor of Nursing Pacific.
Each three-year full-time program combines theoretical learning at our Porirua campus with supervised clinical placements across diverse healthcare environments.
Graduates qualify to take the Nursing Council's State Final Examinations. Successful candidates can then apply for Registered Nurse status with the Nursing Council.
