The Graduate Diploma of Teaching (Secondary) is an intensive 10-month program centered on The New Zealand Curriculum, featuring 16 weeks of hands-on classroom experience. You'll gain expertise in educational theories and teaching methodologies to effectively support diverse learners and become a transformative influence in youth education and well-being.
Admission to the Graduate Diploma of Teaching (Secondary) requires two subjects relevant to secondary school curriculum in your bachelor's degree. One must be a primary subject studied at 300-level, while the other can be either a major or minor subject completed to at least 200-level.
In exceptional cases, you might qualify for the program with just one curriculum-aligned subject if it's recognized by the Dean of Education as being in high demand.
