The Postgraduate Certificate in Chaplaincy (PGCertChap) seeks to strengthen chaplaincy services across diverse modern contexts by incorporating current academic research on chaplaincy practices. This professional qualification caters to both practicing chaplains looking to advance their skills through specialized education and individuals pursuing chaplaincy training. Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent three-year qualification (which need not be in Theology) with acceptable academic performance. Candidates without prior theological education may need to complete specific 300-level Theology courses to meet prerequisites for certain 400-level Biblical Studies (BIBS) and/or Christian Thought and History (CHTH) papers. The program requires completion of three 20-point 400-level courses, with a minimum of two core Chaplaincy papers. The third course may either be another Chaplaincy core paper or an elective from approved options in Biblical Studies, Christian Thought and History, or Ministry Studies.
