The Postgraduate Diploma in Chaplaincy (PGDipChap) seeks to strengthen chaplaincy services across diverse modern contexts by incorporating current academic research on chaplaincy practices. This professional qualification caters to both practicing chaplains looking to advance their skills through higher education and individuals pursuing chaplaincy training. Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent three-year qualification (which need not be in Theology) with acceptable academic performance. Candidates without prior theological education may need to complete certain 300-level Theology courses to meet prerequisites for advanced 400-level Biblical Studies (BIBS) and/or Christian Thought and History (CHTH) papers. The program comprises six 20-point 400-level courses, including three mandatory Chaplaincy-focused papers (under Ministry Studies) and three electives chosen from Biblical Studies, Christian Thought and History, and Ministry Studies offerings.
