Our LLM program offers sophisticated and adaptable legal education for students pursuing studies either full-time or part-time. You can maintain your career momentum by studying while employed, or immerse yourself fully to advance more rapidly. The LLM features year-round enrollment, giving you the freedom to progress your professional journey at your preferred pace. Additionally, the program enables interdisciplinary exploration through one or two master's courses (maximum 30 credits) from other University of Auckland faculties. It includes legal research methodology training for those needing to develop these crucial skills. Choose from more than 30 specialized courses to focus on specific legal fields or explore diverse legal topics. The LLM can be completed through coursework, research, or a blend of both approaches. This curriculum enables deeper, more complex examination of legal subjects compared to undergraduate studies, featuring both detailed legal analyses and policy-focused courses. Every course incorporates substantial research elements, typically culminating in a 12,500-word research paper for 30-credit classes.
You must have completed a Bachelor of Laws or an undergraduate law degree from a recognised university (or similar institution) with a GPA of 5.0 (for Taught 120 points) or 6.0 (for Research 120 points).
IELTS (Academic): Overall score of 7.0 no bands less than 6.5.
