Our LLM program offers sophisticated and adaptable legal education tailored for students pursuing studies either full-time or part-time. Maintain your career progress while learning, or immerse yourself fully to advance more rapidly. With year-round enrollment opportunities, the LLM gives you the freedom to fast-track your professional growth. Students can also incorporate interdisciplinary learning by selecting one or two master's courses (maximum 30 credits) from other University of Auckland faculties. The program includes essential legal research methodology training for those needing to develop these advanced skills. Choose from more than 30 specialized courses to focus on specific legal fields or explore diverse legal topics. The LLM can be completed through coursework, research projects, or a blend of both approaches. This curriculum enables deeper, more complex examination of legal subjects compared to undergraduate studies, featuring both detailed legal analyses and policy-focused courses. Every course incorporates substantial research elements, typically culminating in a 12,500-word research paper for 30-credit classes.
