Our LLM program offers sophisticated and adaptable legal education for students pursuing studies either full-time or part-time. Maintain your career progress while learning, or immerse yourself fully to advance more rapidly. With year-round enrollment opportunities, the LLM gives you the freedom to fast-track your professional development. Students can also incorporate interdisciplinary learning by selecting one or two master's courses (maximum 30 credits) from other University of Auckland faculties. The program includes legal research methodology training for those needing to strengthen these skills. Choose from more than 30 specialized courses to focus on specific legal fields or explore diverse legal topics. You can complete the LLM through coursework, research projects, or a blend of both approaches. This advanced program enables deeper examination of legal subjects beyond undergraduate levels, featuring both detailed legal analyses and policy-focused courses. All courses incorporate substantial research elements, typically culminating in a 12,500-word research paper for 30-credit classes.
