This research-focused program is accredited by the New Zealand Audiological Society (NZAS). To qualify as an audiologist, students must complete the two-year master's degree, followed by an additional year of supervised clinical work, culminating in an NZAS-issued Certificate of Clinical Competence. This clinical year typically occurs while working at an audiology practice. The University's Hearing and Tinnitus Clinic and The Oticon Foundation Hearing Education Centre offer outstanding clinical training and professional development resources for audiologists. Alumni acquire the academic foundation, research skills, and clinical expertise required for entry-level audiology practice. Career paths include clinical roles in public or private healthcare settings or pursuing doctoral studies. Please note the University of Auckland does not facilitate graduate employment and cannot ensure professional registration or job placement in New Zealand or internationally.
