The BALLB conjoint program enables you to earn both a BA and LLB degree faster and with fewer credit requirements than pursuing them individually. This combined degree equips you with crucial skills to succeed in our rapidly evolving, interconnected world. By studying Law, you'll gain versatile abilities that are valuable across numerous professions, both within and outside legal practice. The program allows you to pair your legal education with diverse subjects spanning humanities, social sciences, cultural studies, and languages. Your BALLB journey will cultivate essential competencies for various career paths, fostering legal knowledge, ethical awareness, and civic engagement. Our alumni are making their mark in legal practice across New Zealand and internationally, while also embracing emerging opportunities created by societal, technological, and business transformations.
The program offers exploration of language's structural and cognitive dimensions, its societal roles, and historical evolution. You can examine English linguistics or Pacific languages in depth. Linguistics can be selected as one of your two BA majors (forming a double major), requiring completion of at least 120 points (eight courses) per major, including 45 points (three courses) at Stage III level.
