Gain the expertise needed to deliver outstanding midwifery care through AUT's Bachelor of Health Science (Midwifery) program.

AUT's midwifery qualification equips you for a fulfilling career as either a hospital-based midwife or an independent lead maternity carer. Pursue your midwifery studies at AUT's South Campus in Manukau or through distance education options available in Northland, Rotorua, and Taranaki (combining live online sessions with regional classes).

Hands-on training forms a crucial component of the midwifery curriculum. Over half your study time involves clinical placements, building the abilities to become a skilled and self-assured midwife. During your education, you'll complete 2,400 hours of practical experience, mirroring authentic midwifery practice environments.
