The University of Limerick (UL) provides a two-year full-time Graduate Entry MSc in Human Nutrition and Dietetics. This cutting-edge, research-driven interdisciplinary program enables high-achieving graduates to develop expertise as professional nutritionists and dietitians, preparing them for diverse workplaces including clinical, community, and public health sectors, hospitals, private clinics, food service management, and the food industry.
UL's MSc in Human Nutrition and Dietetics is a two-year intensive Graduate Entry program that equips students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills. Through this interdisciplinary course, graduates will transform into qualified nutrition and dietetics professionals capable of working in multiple healthcare environments. The curriculum expands students' understanding of physiology and biochemistry, focusing on how nutrition impacts health and disease management.
Participants will complete coursework through both the School of Allied Health (Education and Health Sciences Faculty) and Biological Sciences Department (Science and Engineering Faculty). The program incorporates interprofessional education, allowing students to collaborate with other healthcare disciplines from the beginning, fostering a team-based approach to patient care.
Beyond classroom learning, the MSc program requires 1,000 hours of practical training across clinical, community, and innovative settings during the two-year period, including summer study. These placements occur in various healthcare environments (hospitals, primary care centers, public health organizations, and food service providers) serving patients of all ages. Some placements may be located outside Limerick.
